Congrats on getting Chobani as a sponsor. Your other sponsors are amazing too! I own a house (rented out, so can’t stay there) in Boulder and would love to come. It will depend on cost. If I understand, there will be no speakers, right? Otherwise I’d submit some great topics that Kymberly and I do. I used to teach there, at CU Boulder and RallySport! Please let me know when you have the cost as that will be my deciding factor! This is Great!
That’s right, Alexandra.. no speakers at this one! But there will be a lot of fellowship and blogging discussions.. just nothing formal š The cost is going to be $75 and tickets will be on sale mid-January!
Awesome work getting these sponsors, you guys! I’m continually reminding Mikey about this event and should be there (at least, I’m planning on it – not 100% sure if he is!). š But depending on the price, it should work! #stoked
I can’t wait!!! I’ve already looked into flights š Having Chobani as a sponsor is absolutely incredible! It makes the whole thing that much more exciting!
Woot woot! You ladies are the bomb! I so hope I can figure out something to get out there. I don’t like it when amazing parties go one without me. ha ha! š
I follow all three of your blogs, and I can only imagine how fun this retreat is going to be with you ladies as hosts. If it weren’t so far away I’d go for sure! But everything is far away for us upper east coast folks… sigh. But I know you’ll all have a fantastic time!
I’m with Lindsay above – really hoping I’m able to come! Love the idea, the location, the sponsors, the organizers, the people coming…looks awesome. š
You guys couldn’t have chosen a more perfect setting š Chautauqua is still one of my favorite hiking spots. I’m in Denver so I’d love to make it up for this!
Ladies, you are so cool and dedicated with planning this! I wish I could join, but from Ottawa, Ontario it is just too far of a flight. Maybe another year.
Chobani rocks š
I eat Chobani yogurt EVERY day mostly for breakfast but sometimes even at dinner in pasta recipes! So dang good! Hoping to swing the “Blender” but coming from Georgia may be tough. š
Love Colorado! My family rented a ski lodge years ago and had the best time. Sounds like an amazing retreat…. and Chobai yum! Wish Georgia wasn’t so far away š
This sounds like SO much fun!! I may definitely be looking into this to check out the cost of tickets etc š I would love to meet everyone and love the idea of a “fellowship” type focus!
I’m so bummed I won be able to make this year’s retreat. I’m local, but have a wedding out of state on the 5th. If there’s anything I can do to help with the prep, please feel free to email me at nothankstocake@gmail.com. Much success with this awesome weekend!
Hello there! I’m a 22 year old nursing student living in Indiana. I love baking, healthy food and staying active. I stubbled on Foodbuzz about a year ago, and it is what really opened my eyes to all the amazing blogs out there. I’m interested in starting my own blog, and I would love more information on the retreat! I don’t have anyone to room with, is this a problem? Thanks!! ā”
I’m sorry if you included this in one of your posts, but how are most people getting to the retreat from DIA? I don’t really want to rent a car, but I think it might be cheaper than paying for a shuttle… unless there is one already set up to pick people up?
I would LOVE to go to the Blend Retreat but I’m all the way in Germany and flight tickets would cost too much. Maybe (hopefully) another time! š
I hope that everyone that is going has a great time! š
Sad that you couldn’t make it too!! Sell a kneidy and flippin’ come to BLEND! I’m serious when I say that you could easily find a free couch to stay on! COME!
Hi Lindsay! I really don’t have a preference, I was just hoping that there would be group I could bunk up with. I’d be happy with any match up, since I don’t know any of the attendees (yet). I plan on booking my flight and purchasing my conference ticket tomorrow or Friday at the latest. Thanks for the help with this.
NICE! I haven’t tried any of their products before; I can’t wait for Blend Retreat! As someone with food allergies and specifications, it’s always nice when there are companies understanding and making eating easy and delicious. can’t wait! š
My favorite afternoon pick-me-up is either a snack, often involving something sweet, whether fruit or chocolate :), or some fresh air and sunshine–always provides a new energy.
I must say I’m amazed at the stats on these products; so exciting to see now that I aim to keep grains, gluten, dairy, etc, out of my diet, and low in sugar for such good-looking snacks is an added bonus. Thanks for sharing!
Wow, all those snacks look amazing!!! And I’m am so wanting a “good” Kale chip/cracker š
Afternoon pick-me-ups usually consist of either a banana or apple with sunflower seed butter, or some fresh veggie juice (today’s is cucumber, honeydew melon, lime, and peppers).
Oh my gosh, I love Lori and Michelle – I’ve been wanting to try their goodies for SO LONG now!!
Favorite afternoon pick me up? Lately it’s been the double strawberry muffins I made last week. But when they aren’t around, Wasa crackers spread with Laughing Cow + strawberries is pretty awesome. Yum!
My favorite afternoon “pick me up” is definitely a walk outside my office. My coworker and I have a standing 3pm date so that, unless it’s raining, we get to stroll around the office a few times every day, enjoying the sunlight. It’s a great last push through the final few hours at work!
I am excited to try any of these. I have just begun the raw food journey and although it is just learning the things to eat and not and my daughter had gluten allergies along with myself being healthy is our goal. My pick me up is chocolate in the afternoon. So with allergies to things we are finding that it is hard to find things that we can have so it would be nice not to have to worry about this snack.
Love the twins!
My favorite afternoon pick me up is a cup of green juice, or a green smoothie made with vega + fruits (berries and mangoes are the best!). Always sure to satisfy and give me the energy needed to finish my day in a good mood!
Ana
My favourite afternoon afternoon “pick me up” usually consists of green tea and lemon, often with a handful of nuts or, in the summer (and right now!!), a quick frozen berry sorbet :).
I love what the twins do, and the look of their creations, often making recipes from their site!!
my favorite afternoon pick me up in a banana or apple. i know sounds simple, but i love them and they just hit the spot and tide me over and give me that energy i need. ok so starbucks sometimes too. i can’t help it!!
Have been wanting to try Twin Cakes delicious treats! Yummy! I currently eat an apple w/ raw but butters or a hemp blueberry protein smoothie in the afternoons after working out or for a quick pick-me-up š
The Blend Retreat sounds so fun! My favourite afternoon pick my up lately has been a crisp fuji apple (they are so good right now!) and a handful of almonds, walnuts, cacao nib mix. Gets me through that 3:30 lull time when I just want to nap!
My favorite afternoon pick me up is some sort of fruit. Typically, that’s an apple and peanut butter. Yum! Thanks for this contest, and thank you Twin Cakes (if you two read this!)
My current afternoon pick me up snack is a protein shake with vanilla us warrior protein powder either mixed with almond milk or water and a little truvia to give it a sweet taste. Always in the market for other snack ideas though:)
Favorite afternoon pick me up – I always pack a mid afternoon snack, usually consisting of some type of fruit/protein combo! These snacks look so delish, I would definitely incorporate them.
My favorite afternoon pick me up is half of a larabar.. fruit and nut love!! This giveaway is so exciting- never heard of this brand but the products look great š
I’ve been wanting to try the twins stuff for a while now and just haven’t made a purchase- I hope I get to taste test soon! My favorite afternoon pick me up is definitely being active and/or eating an apple, depending on your description of a pick me up.
Yummy!! I can’t wait to try some of these! I would have to say that banana with peanut butter would be my favorite, it doesn’t get much better than that š
Oh, my goodness! Have you tried their Protein Thin Mint cookies?! If not, race over to their site and get on it! AMAZING! And perfect for a cocoa minty afternoon lift! š
May favorite afternoon pickup is a chocolate chip cookie dough Larabar. Sweet, but not overwhelmingly so, and it doesn’t leave me with a sugar hangover a few hours later.
LOVE this giveaway! My favorite afternoon pick me up is a protein smoothie: 1 scoop chocolate warrior protein powder, handful strawberries, 1/2 frozen banana, 1 cup rice milk, 1 TBSP almond butter. YUM
Water with cucumber, spearmint and lemon! It is so refreshing!!! Or, I love Trader Joe’s organic mint melange tea. It is warm, comforting and soothing, especially right after lunch!
i always eat lunch around 2-3 so i typically avoid the need for the afternoon pick me up, unless i’m famished, of course – i just find the late lunch breaks up the day so much better
Yummy! I absolutely love smoothies in the afternoon but can’t always get them because of work. If that is the case I will have some sort of protein bar that has chocolate in it. Mmmmmm.
I love a cup of tea with a vegan brownie! Or my latest fav, eating maple cinnamon almond butter from the jar. š I would be so thrilled to try the Pure2Raw girls’ goodies!
My favorite pick me up is homemade sweet potato fries! I really like them with homemade sunflower butter as well. It’s the perfect combination! I would love to try some of these goods! Thanks pure2raw twins š
My friend and I are looking signing up, and we would share a bed. How does it work for registration? Do we select who we want to share a bed with? Then, do we get randomly placed with another two people? Just wondering. thanks!
It’s important to eat foods that contain only natural unprocessed ingredients – no manmade additives when I snack. I like nuts fruit hummus celery… š
My eyes always go toward the amount of protein and fiber and then I compare it to the amount of total fat. I also look at the ingredients. I basically look at everything! Hehehe š that’s what happens when you’re a college student studying to become a dietitian!
I shop for snacks in the produce, bulk, organic/natural, and health sections of grocery stores. The ideal snack will have:
1. moderate levels of carbs, protein and fat. low sodium. gluten free.
2. good sources of carbs (low GI?, fiber?) and fat (healthy?)
3. taste. mouth-feel.
4. portability and resistance to breakage. minimal packaging.
I always look for a good balance of protein and carbs in a snack, without too much sugar. I actually have had beanitos (cheddar cheese flavor) and loved them!
I have never heard of these! They sound super tasty!
If I am going to buy a packaged snack I always look at the ingredients to make sure there aren’t tons of additives. But I must say classic fresh fruit to me is the perfect snack! I am a sucker for chips though. I just can’t help myself!!
I try to choose a snack that has some sort of nutritional benefit, like protein and fiber. If I’m going to eat a snack then it needs to keep my stomach full and satisfied for a while.
I LOVE these chips. I have bought them several times. Added bonus for me- they are gluten free!!
What I look for in my snacks is always first the ingredients for all natural sources and if sugar is high on the list, then calories and servings, then ratio of proteins:fats:carbs, and how much of those carbs are sugar/added sugar.
In my snacks, I tend to look for low sugar, high protein, high fiber with as little ingredients as possible. I have to be able to pronounce the ingredients.
In a healthy snack I look for something that makes me feel good and gives me energy. I don’t tend to look at nutrition labels but instead go with how I feel.
I look for my healthy snacks to have a protein kick along with a small healthy fat content and a few carbs for the perfect combination of slow-burning energy. Generally, I like my snacks to be crispy, so I really get the full effect of the crunching process! I love the idea of a healthy crispy snack that isn’t deep fried and full of unhealthy processed chemicals – natural all the way!
I currently have Bob’s Quinoa, Flax, Chia Seeds, and Whole Wheat baking flour. I love Bob’s!!! I would like to try some of their beans/seeds if I won š Please pick me! Please pick me! Did that help???
It would be tough to decide, but I’d probably start with xanthan gum and garbanzo flour. So many yummy products! I, too, love their steel cut oats and their cornmeal.
I lurve Bob’s Red Mill! The chia seeds and gf steel cut oats are staples in my pantry. But if I had an extra 50 bucks to spend – I’d get the gf pancake mix, the buckwheat groats, gf biscuit mix and some millet! Yumm.
I would get the muesli, some old fashioned rolled oats, some of their unique flours, and maybe some fava beans!! They have so many good things, it’d be fun to try something different!!
Oh wow – so excited that Bob’s Red Mill is a sponsor – I have SOOOOO many of their products. When I need a wierd flour or grain, they almost always have it. I would try some of their beans and get some of the more “exotic” flours I haven’t tried yet!
I LOVE Bobs Red Mill products! I use all the different gluten free flours and mixes. My son has a wheat allergy and these products have been so wonderful. I’m so grateful he can have pancakes on Saturday mornings. Thanks Bob!!
I tweeted also. š
Oh yeah! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Bob’s Rd Mill products. I currently use (to name just a few) chia seeds, coconut flour, flax, oats, etc, etc, etc… I probably spend at least $50 in BRM products every time I go to the grocery store š
Oh em geeee! My first experience with Bob’s was pizza crust – and now I’m hooked! I want to bake EVERYTHING gf. I’d most like to try the Almond or Coconut flour.
Love bob’s! Pumped they are a sponsor for blend.
I have been out of creamy buckwheat for sometime so that is first on my list. But I would also get some new things Anasazi Beans, coconut flour, and peppy kernels.
OMG I love Bob’s Red Mill so much. It’s seriously like my favorite brand! š
I LOVE the coconut flour, most of the the hot cereal mixes, steel cut oats, and xanthum gum. But I love EVERYTHING! Thanks for this opprotunity; you rock!
I’m sure I could spend at least half of the $50 on the oat flour alone. From there, I would have to try some of those mixes–like the 10 grain pancake mix or the spice apple bran muffin mix. OOoo those sound good!
Bob’s is a staple in my pantry (oats, lentils, chickpea flour, flax, etc). If I win I would restock PLUS I’d finally try their almond meal and coconut flour š
I would love to try the chia seeds, the black bean flour, garbanzo bean flour and the coconut flour (for starters). Oh, and I’m nearly out of the ground flax so I’ll need more of that!
Oooohhh this is exciting!
I would spend the $50 on CHIA seeds, wheat bran (LOVE), and some flours (coconut, grabanzo?!) that I never try because I’m just too darn poor.
=)
I want to try coconut flour! We love the all-purpose flour for making bread because it has the perfect amount of gluten for bread! I also love the whole wheat pastry flour.
What DON’T I want to try, really? I’m a huge fan of the Whole Wheat Pastry Flour, and would love to get my hands on some pea flour (how interesting…) I’d also love to try a number of the cereals, including Spice ‘n Nice. I’d also need to try and fit some Sweet Brown Rice and Hulled Hemp Seeds into my budget I believe. š
I LOVE hot cereals so I would love to try the cracked wheat cereal, brown rice farina cereal, and all those multigrain hot cereals! I want to try them alllll!!! š
i’ll spend for steel cut oats, almond flour and mighty cereal which are all new to me, and also oat bran because i’ve gone through two packs already~!:)
OM gosh! Love love love Bob’s! I actually have been using their 10 grain hot cereal blend to make cookies that Josh is obsessed with. I am posting the recipe soon. Obviously, I’d buy tons of the 10 grain cereal, steel cut oats, regular oats, etc!
i would definitely spend the money on their gluten free products! i just found out i have an intolerance to wheat and need to start figuring out what kind of gluten free products are out there! Bob’s red mill will definitely be a staple, especially their gluten free oats!
I love Bob’s Red Mill gluten free products, so I would get the gluten free biscuit and baking mix, gluten free hot cereal, and gluten free brownie mix š
coconut flour, quinoa flour, xantham gum!! i am tempted by a different bob’s red mill product every time i go to the store; if i win i can live out my dreams!
I would love to try a bunch of new things that I don’t have the extra money to buy right now! I would get xantham gum, pancake mix, pizza crust mix, and some different kinds of flours! Oh and steel cut oats! Never tried em’ before! š I hope I win!!
I would love restock some of my supplies and try plenty of new fun varieties! Flax seed, xanthax gun, chia seeds, oat bran and nuts cookie mix, low-carb bread..oh I could go on and on!
i love bob’s redmill GF oatmeal. i had no idea they had so many GF flour products! i would love to try teff, millet flour, TVP, and the creamy buckwheat cereal!!
I saw they have Apple Strawberry Granola, that sounds amazing!! Maybe also some Masa Harina flour so I can try my hand at making tortillas from scratch. š
After taking a look, I’m very interested in the different types of beans. Cranberry beans sound very yummy! But definitely the cereals would be nice to try as well.
I’ve been eating Bob’s products since I was a born, but I had never read his story or even looked at Red Mill’s website.
I’m running low on Bob’s organic coconut flour, so the $50 would go toward that, and some products I’ve been wanting to try: hulled hemp seeds, masa flour, a cloth bread bag, and a myrtlewood spurtle!!!
I eat gluten free so I rely on a lot of Bob Redmill’s flours!! I buy almost all of their GF flours and also their GF oatmeal. My most recent love is coconut flour and Bob’s is the most reasonably priced coconut flour out there!
Definitely buy more coconut flour and I’d try some of the other flours I have yet to sample – almond and brown rice. I’d also get some couscous. Love Bob’s products!
probably some grains and nuts cereal, some organic rolled oats, some quinoa, basmati brown rice (been wanting to try this!) organic quick cooking steel cut oats! and the list goes on…
I would buy A LOT of coconut flour. And almond meal. And xanthan gum… or maybe some hot cereal? This is really hard to choose, because I have yet to find a Bob’s Red Mill product that I didn’t love!
I’d love to try some coconut flour since I’ve been seeing it all over in recipes lately š
Gluten Free Cinnamon Raisin Bread Mix and Pizza Crust Mix are definitely calling my name, as well!
Oh my goodness, I LOVE Bob’s Redmill products…this is so EASY! I have been on the fence forever about almond flour so I would definitely snag up a bag of that, as well as some farina (curious to try since I’ve seen it on so many other blogs) and then I would stock up on my faves like the gums, chia seeds, and flaxseed for sure!
Thanks for the awesome giveaway! And I CANNOT believe BLEND is only 3 weeks away! Eeeeeek!
I big puffy heart Bob’s Red Mill! I should upload a picture of my pantry with this entry to show that about one-half of my pantry is currently taken up with Bob’s Red Mill bags. If I were to win, I’d spend it on baking soda and arrowroot powder. I know that sounds weird, but I make a lot of my own house cleaning and beauty products now, and those are two key ingredients in things like deodorant and shampoo (yes, I shampoo with baking soda!). Really excited to get a whole bag at Blend!
I would buy amaranth flour, buckwheat flour, and coconut flour. Those are 3 that I’ve been wanting to try baking with.
Thanks for offering the giveaway!
The pizza crust is to die for! Definitely that and I’ve always wanted to try the cocunut flour… So many amazing tasting things come from the red mill!!
My healthy thing was scheduling my lunch break run with a friend. This forced me to put the time in my calendar like a real appointment since she was waiting outside for me, and I couldn’t just tell myself, I’m too busy to take lunch today…I’ll run later tonight (which never happens). And the mid day break was so nice!! I need to treat fitness like any other scheduled part of my day…an appointment to commit to!!
I am training for the Ironman World Championships in NYC on August 11th. The amino and slim products looks exactly like what I have been looking for! I would love to have a tasty supplement to enjoy between all my swimming, biking, running, and lifting. I also tweeted š
I am really trying to work on eating more real foods. With the weather being nicer I am making more trips to the farmer’s market to buy fresh/local produce. I love it!!
I have done Jillian Michaels 30 day shred twice this week. I have lifted weights twice this week and I have walked 45 minutes on the tredmill three times this week. Oh, does walking the dog count? I have done that every morning this week!
I’ve done 2 one hour interval training so far and another 3 to go before the week is over! Plus I’ve been eating salad every day for lunch – nice change from the frozen meals I’ve been eating!
I meet with my personal trainer three days each week. When I wake up feeling like I “just can’t go to the gym” I remind myself that my trainer is counting on me to be there (just like an employer would!) š
Thanks for the chance to win!
This week I started the final week of the current phase of System Six, AND I made a plan for what I’ll do after this phase ends. I’m going to do Physique 57 for two weeks to change things up.
I’m stuck at home after surgery, so I’ve been sure to include TONS of nutritious fruits and veggies in my diet lately. I’m hoping that more vitamins = faster healing!
one thing i did this week (or did NOT do) was run the boston marathon on monday…im 20 weeks pregnant today and the heat on monday made it a little too risky to run…so hopefully, my body and baby are thankful for that tough decision!
I can’t wait to try Healthy Bites for myself – Lindsay is awesome!! I want to try a bite with Marmite or Vegemite – not really one on her page though. š
Also, I liked Healthy Bites on FB – although I’m not sure if this requires two posts or not…I just really want those chocolate chip cookie dough bites! š
I got custom bites from Lindsay last week and they are so good! I wanted something fruity so she made me pomegranate, lemon, banana. So good. now They are almost gone and now I want something chocolatey!! Perhaps the irish delight or halloween bites.
My best friend and I suffered from allergies when we used to live back in our country. Ever since we moved to the US, the allergies kind of went away magically. Is there a reason for that?
wow! what an awesome giveaway! I love baking and finding ways to make my favorite sweet treats healthier. One of my favorites – chocolate chip cookies and banana bread!
As you can tell from my blog name, I try to avoid most added sugar. I have heard many things about Agave nectar, but have never actually tried it. I would love to try some!! I would probably first use it in an oatmeal recipe.
A favorite, but rare treat of mine is chocolate chip banana or zucchini bread! I don’t use a lot of sweetener in the recipe in the first place, but if I can make it with less with Xagave I’m sure it would be even better!
Cookies. Hands down. If I could make my monster cookies healthier with this, I would make them alllll the time (so that would actually probably be a bad idea).
My favorite is the green monster
I literally have one a day
Yesterday was
Egg nog seltzer (I bought a case and then decided I hate it on its own but it is actually yummy in this)
A banana (frozen)
Spinach
A frozen 1/3 of a big pear
1 strawberry
I currently usually use honey, maple syrup, or stevia as sugar alternatives, but I really want to try agave! It would go great in yogurts, or better yet on whole wheat waffles!
I would like to the super fruit bar. I’m always looking for snacks that will help keep me on the go, good for my body and to help me stay on track and satisfied so I don’t feel the need to eat empty calorie type foods.
My brother recommended I may like this blog. He used to be entirely right. This submit truly made my day. You cann’t imagine simply how much time I had spent for this information! Thank you!
Art’s Original all the way. There are few occasions where I undulge in this amount of calories, but on a century ride or so, there is nothing better than sitting down under a tree and munching on Art’s Original š
Wow, would love to try several and have my eye on the Original Collection – Superfood Slam, Fruition – Cranberry/Raspberry and the Halo – Rocky Road BUT think I will choose the one my boys would like most The Original Collection – Peanut Butter/Chocolate Chip. Thanks a bunch, great give-a-way! Tweeted (Bellheff/luv2win)
I was very recently converted to Probar by the Whole Berry Blast (it was a near religious experience), but I have yet to try the Cran-Lemon Twister or Apple Cinnamon Crunch! Num.
I would love to try the superfood, but I am planning to bring a box to my friend in Tanzania with the Peace Corps. So if I win Ill hand deliver the prize pack to Moshi before we work on Kilimanjaro!
I would love to try the Koka Moka and the Superfood Slam. Wait, I am also going to have to try the Banana Boom. š I have not tried any of the Fruitation line, and would like to try all of those. Yummy! I love Probar.
Greetings! I would like to try Cherry Pretzel…’cause salty sweet is where its at!!! I would eat any PRO BAR actually…they are amazing fuel. My best, Courtney
Omgosh, I don’t think I can choose just one. There are too many delicious flavors, but probably anything with fruit in it or chocolate… maybe the chocolate orange!
Rocky Road Halo… mostly because Rocky Road is my mom’s favorite ice cream and we always had it in the house growing up. I always gravitate toward that flavor for that reason!
Well said Sarah! It was great to see everyone participate no matter how sore they were, how late they stayed up talking or how much fun they had the night of Cinco De Mayo š
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to all the awesome sponsors!! It was a wonderful weekend AND I’m loving the chance to discover new products I might not have otherwise found. š
The swag bags were great but what was really awesome was getting to hang out with the reps from the companies! Sometimes I forget there are some really great people behind the yummy products I munch on day-to-day. Thanks to all of them we had a great weekend and plenty of fuel for all of our activities!
I’m so overwhelmed with my swag bag that I haven’t unpacked it yet. I’m also too tempted to use/eat/drink everything at once- because every single item in it is awesome! My plan this weekend is to sort out and organize everything in my pantry. š
And yes- I did go buy an extra suitcase at REI just to bring my swag home. š
THANK YOU sponsors!!
I love this. I already read her post but I read it again..it’s so moving and so incredibly true! I never felt judged and felt so welcomed by everyone. Walking around in sweatpants and no makeup all weekend…and having it be the norm was awesome!
This was my first retreat, and I CANNOT believe how awesome the swag bags were! It’s going to take me awhile to get through all of the stuff (good thing!). Serious thank you to all of the wonderful sponsors!!!
This was the most incredible schwag bag ever. So many new products to try! I’ve been drinking my FitMix BCAAs all week pe- and post- workouts. Yesterday I discovered that sweet potato PopChips are life-changing. That Bobo’s bar didn’t even make it off the plane… and the Pure2Raw chia brownies didn’t make it much further. š
We at Chobani loved this post, Lindsay! We certainly wouldn’t be where we are without the support of bloggers and fans like you and all the lovely ladies at the Blend Retreat. It was our pleasure to sponsor the fantastic weekend, and it’ll definitely be one we’ll remember. Even better was getting to finally put faces to names for so many familiar and new blends! Nothing is more important than making personal connections with the fans who spoon into our cups each and every day. Thanks again for having us, the Blend Retreat rocked! Be sure to check out our lil’ recap of the weekend: http://chobani.com/blog/?p=4674
TSA did not like me and my swag yesterday in the airport. The Fitmixer container really threw them off. TSA agent: “what’s this?” Me: “powder. Can you put it back now? Thanks.” haha
Seriously though, amazing sponsors, amazing swag, amazing support, amazing retreat. Can’t wait for next year!
You ladies rock. That is all : )
you comin’, Dana?? It’s going to be fun!!
Wow! Such great companies. Nice work ladies!!
Ashley – you’re coming, right?
I’d love to come. Can’t wait to sign up!
Such fantastic news! Congrats on a stellar sponsor!
#stoked
Whoo Hoo!! Can’t wait!
This sounds insanely fun! I don’t know if I’ll be able to make the trek from metro Detroit, but I can’t wait to read all about it. š
I can’t wait!!! I’ve already looked into flights š Having Chobani as a sponsor is absolutely incredible! It makes the whole thing that much more exciting!
I so wish that this retreat wasn’t a week before my grad school finals! I would LOVE to come. It sounds so amazing!
This sounds amazing! You guys rock!
Congrats on the Chobani sponsorship – blogging has come a long way!
Sounds so fun! The website is great. What a creative idea, ladies!
this sounds like SO much fun! now i need to start convincing my hubby that i NEED to go!
YAY!!! I’m so excited for this I can’t even stinking stand it!!
Blend away ladies! Way to go!
This is so freakin’ exciting!! I can’t wait!
This sounds like so much fun. Such a good idea! I can’t wait to read about it š
I’ve never actually tried Chobani. I’d love to try it!
What fun! I really wish I could come but since I live in Iowa not sure I could afford the trip. Have fun ladies!
Crossing my fingers and praying to Sweet Jesus that I get to come! SO AWESOME!
congrats on Chobani….
congrats on Chobani as a sponsor…
I’m with Lindsay above – really hoping I’m able to come! Love the idea, the location, the sponsors, the organizers, the people coming…looks awesome. š
Sounds like a great way for bloggers to meet without having too big of an agenda. Great minds!
Looks great! Love the way you found the ‘name’ BLEND!
Only the very BEST parts of a retreat! The fun, friendship parts!
Seriously! So excited about this!!
Wow, this sounds like such a fun event! I wish I lived near Boulder and could meet the bloggers whose writing means so much to me!
Great idea.
I SOOO hope I can come! Sounds like such a blast!
This looks so fun!
I wish I could go! I’m getting married in May so I don’t think a trip is really feasible š

We haven’t started any yet. But we do have some cabins that need more people in them! What type of bedding were you looking for?

I think I remember Lindsay saying it was $75 is that correct?
Thanks! š
We’re looking into renting shuttles to drive, Amy!
Hi!! Are we supposed to indicate t-shirt size pre-retreat? Just wondering. Thanks!
YES! We’ll be sending out an email soon, asking for sizes, Kelsey.
SO wish I could come! But since I live in Germany it would just cost way to much.. maybe some other time!
Wow sounds awesome! Too bad I can’t afford $300 flight right now ) ;
I would LOVE to go to the Blend Retreat but I’m all the way in Germany and flight tickets would cost too much. Maybe (hopefully) another time! š
I hope that everyone that is going has a great time! š
are there still tickets available ? has anyone requested a roommate?
Dena – there ARE still tickets left and we have about 5 girls who still need bedmates or roommates!! What kind of bedding option were you looking at?
Sad that you couldn’t make it too!! Sell a kneidy and flippin’ come to BLEND! I’m serious when I say that you could easily find a free couch to stay on! COME!
Hi Lindsay! I really don’t have a preference, I was just hoping that there would be group I could bunk up with. I’d be happy with any match up, since I don’t know any of the attendees (yet). I plan on booking my flight and purchasing my conference ticket tomorrow or Friday at the latest. Thanks for the help with this.
I will be there! Just bought my ticket š

I look for real food ingredients – no chemicals added and for fiber and protein content too for good energy fuel!

I look for natural ingredients!
Definitely want pure natural snacks with ingredients I understand! – thanks for the great giveaway!
Tweeted as well.
Snacks full of protein definitely keep me fueled in between meals – love peanut butter or almond butter with apple slices.
My eyes always go toward the amount of protein and fiber and then I compare it to the amount of total fat. I also look at the ingredients. I basically look at everything! Hehehe š that’s what happens when you’re a college student studying to become a dietitian!
just followed and tweeted! š t hanks for all the amazing giveaways!
I like my snacks to be as close to real food as possible.
I look for fiber and no hydrogenated oils. And great flavor, of course. These would fit the bill quite nicely!
I followed and tweeted about the giveaway. š
I have never heard of these! They sound super tasty!
If I am going to buy a packaged snack I always look at the ingredients to make sure there aren’t tons of additives. But I must say classic fresh fruit to me is the perfect snack! I am a sucker for chips though. I just can’t help myself!!
I tweeted about the giveaway!!
I look for taste, natural ingredients, and fiber – basically everything in Beanitos! I always have a bag of the cheddar cheese flavor in my pantry!
I try to choose a snack that has some sort of nutritional benefit, like protein and fiber. If I’m going to eat a snack then it needs to keep my stomach full and satisfied for a while.
I LOVE these chips. I have bought them several times. Added bonus for me- they are gluten free!!
I look for things that are made of all natural ingredients, healthy, and still satisfying.

I look for fiber and protein, but mostly the protein content and I try to eat real foods as my snacks. I’ve been wanting to try Beanitos!
I am following them on twitter and I tweeted about the giveaway!
I followed & I tweeted! š
And I tweeted : )
I love snacks that don’t have a laundry list of ingredients I can’t recognize.
In a healthy snack I look for something that makes me feel good and gives me energy. I don’t tend to look at nutrition labels but instead go with how I feel.
I look for snacks that satisfy me after a long day and are delicious and healthy!
When I chose snacks, I go for those with the fewest ingredients and the best nutritional profile! Sounds like these fit the bill! š
Tweeted.
I always look at fiber!

A favorite, but rare treat of mine is chocolate chip banana or zucchini bread! I don’t use a lot of sweetener in the recipe in the first place, but if I can make it with less with Xagave I’m sure it would be even better!
Pinned Apple Cinnamon Almond Salad, YUM!

Cookies. Hands down. If I could make my monster cookies healthier with this, I would make them alllll the time (so that would actually probably be a bad idea).

Great recap, Sarah!
One word to describe Sarah after meeting her for the 1st. time: “Electric”. Love her…
Haha exactly Dena!
I’m saying super YUM to Nutty Banana Boom!!
Well said Sarah! It was great to see everyone participate no matter how sore they were, how late they stayed up talking or how much fun they had the night of Cinco De Mayo š
I just found out about the Blend Retreat. I look forward to the 2013 retreat! I hope everyone had fun.
Eat Live Move
Well said, girl, well said. And the bags were epic! And the reps that joined us seemed to have as much fun as we did. Loved every moment. š
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to all the awesome sponsors!! It was a wonderful weekend AND I’m loving the chance to discover new products I might not have otherwise found. š
I’m getting on this thankful train! It was amazing. All of it. And the small bit I was able to salvage, I’m loving.
That Bobo’s bar didn’t even make it off the plane… and the Pure2Raw chia brownies didn’t make it much further. š
Thank you to all of the amazing sponsors!
next year healthy bites will be there LIVE! hehe.
THANK YOU Sponsors!!!!
Swag has been keeping me forever happy and healthy in my daily 2hr commutes. Thank you to all of you!
Yes! A HUGE thank you to all the sponsors! I was overwhelmed by my swag bag!!
