Sizzlefish Q & A + GIVEAWAY!

June 3, 2014

Wow- we are really in the home-stretch now- The 2014 Blend Retreat is this week! We can hardly believe how quickly time has gone by and are SO excited to see many of our old friends (and meet new ones!) this weekend. This year’s retreat promises to have plenty of surprises and awesome perks for all of the attendees.

One of the things that we look forward to the most at the Blend Retreat each year is the food. We’ve had some wonderful, generous sponsors each year that have provided the attendees with a variety of meals, snacks and drinks that tickle the taste buds. This year’s cocktail sponsor, Sizzlefish, will be no exception. Let’s learn a little more about what they have to offer:

Sizzlefish_tshirt_BL

1. How long has Sizzlefish been around? Can you tell us a little bit about how and why you got started?

We started Sizzlefish.com just last Fall, so it’s still a “new baby.” You could say that Sizzlefish was actually conceived on a training run! I’ve worked for years in the premium sector of wholesale seafood. Before and after work, I’m a fitness-minded endurance age grouper. One day on a run, it dawned on me that offering premium quality fish directly to an athletic/fitness audience might be a great entrée into direct-delivery seafood to consumers. Between the nearly-miraculous health benefits of Omega 3s and the high levels of protein, fish is the ultimate training food. Sizzlefish would be a delicious real food source for protein and omega 3s!

2. What products does Sizzlefish specialize in?

Our products are all-natural filet portions of a variety of fish species that represent a good array of protein and omega 3s. When you talk about high omega 3s, salmon naturally is going to be a big seller. But sablefish, also known as black cod, is a mild, white-meat fish that is very high in omega 3s. Then there are choices like cod and haddock that contains omega 3s in lower quantities, but are great lean-protein sources.

3. What sets Sizzlefish apart from your competitors?

Fish ordered from Sizzlefish.com arrives at your door frozen at its peak of freshness, vacuum-
packed in serving sizes. You can thaw and cook top-quality fish in minutes, and enjoy super-
healthy, natural and delicious dinners that you probably didn’t know you could make at home!

4. We are SO excited to have Sizzlefish at Blend Retreat. How will you be involved this year?

We are cocktail sponsors, so everyone attending the retreat will get a chance to try our salmon hors d’oeuvres on Friday evening. Also I will be manning our table and will be around during the weekend to answer questions and talk about Sizzlefish with anyone who wants to visit.

5. We are excited to try your products at the retreat! But maybe we don’t want to wait…so tell us, where can we find your products for purchase?

Sizzlefish.com – available exclusively online!

6. Is there anything else you would like to tell us about Sizzlefish?

People who have had the opportunity to eat great fish become seafood lovers! And the health and fitness benefits of fish are huge – we are told to eat fish twice a week. If you are looking for a consistent place to buy great, natural seafood that is delivered to you in convenient filet servings,
then please give Sizzlefish.com a try!

This past Memorial Day Weekend, my best friend and I went to an awesome fish market and bought a whole 3lb red snapper and threw that beauty on the grill with all sorts of goodies. Definitely my favorite of the “flaky” fishes!

Also salmon, and swordfish is my treat-fish!

Cod and Haddock and Whitefish for freshwater, but ahi or mahi for ocean fish. And of course shrimp and crab which aren’t fish at all, but still fall under the same “genre” I think 😉

I love all fish, especially as sushi. But you can never go wrong with a lightly seared ahi tuna, cedar-grilled salmon, or a good swordfish steak, Yum!
